Teachers who are looking to make connections for their class, or individual students are able to create a free account here at Hive Thinking.

When teachers sign up, you will receive a community password which you can pass on to the rest of your class. This account will let you see the size of the network that your students are creating for themselves.

Students who are blogging outside of their classrooms and are interested in making connections with others around the world can also sign up for an account at Hive Thinking. Simply create and verify an account and you'll be able to create a global network of people who are interested in some of the same things you are.

How it Works...

Hive Thinking is a recommendation engine. The code that runs this site was designed to look for connections between people. Those connections might be based on age, geography or interests that you have.

When you sign up for a free account at Hive Thinking, you'll be asked to give some basic information about yourself. From that information, and from the tags that are posted on your own blog, Hive Thinking will recommend a personalized set of connections for you; people who have the same interests as you and who you will want to consider reading and writing with.

As more people join the site, the connections that are listed for you will change and update.

Learners around the world are blogging, podcasting, taking photos, making videos and programming. Hive Thinking is a space to bring some of those people and their ideas together.
